PADI AWARE Adopt a Dive Site Program urges scuba diving leaders around the globe to engage in ongoing, local protection and monitoring of our underwater playgrounds.
We have adopted Clownfish, Salon, Giant’s Castle and Manta Reefs.
We at Liquid are passionate ocean advocates and we dive all the Tofo dive sites regularly. Adopting a Dive Site gives us a way to take ownership of their local dive sites and be part of the solution to achieving a clean and healthy ocean.
Dive Against the Debris Course is part of all our Advance Open Water courses, so we’re doing the clean up dives regularly with our students. We have committed in carrying out monthly Dive Against Debris surveys on our adopted sites, reporting types and quantities of marine debris found underwater each month.
The data we provide can be used to help inform necessary prevention measures and help to educate the community as to where individuals can reduce their waste footprint.
Adopting Dive Sites encourages monthly removal and recording of marine debris. Debris-free sites are also reported. The data can then support local and global change.
